Capital Sheet Metal Staircase Shines at Embarcadero Center

Embarcadero Center’s four blocks of mixed-use real estate attract millions of business people, tourists, shoppers, and diners every year. Located between bustling Market Street and the beautiful waterfront, the Center’s design is sleek, urban, and efficient.

For a high traffic, highly visible entrance staircase, the Embarcadero Center team turned to Capital Sheet Metal’s expert craftsmen. CSM was contracted to fabricate and install the handrail and cladding for the double-helix stairway.

In our Sacramento Job workshop, the CSM carefully fabricated the handrail from sturdy 14 gauge, #4 (brushed) finish, type 304 stainless steel. To perfectly match the staircase’s gentle curves, we welded and cooled the inside rail to shrink it and stretched the outside rail with an air hammer. Using our state-of-the-art equipment, we cut and formed the matching stainless steel cladding.

Our professional installation team completed the job on-site, securing the rails and cladding without exposed fasteners. After all the pieces were in place, we gave the ensemble a final polish to leave Embarcadero Center looking it’s best and brightest.
